Welcome to the Hive

At Beehive Behavioral Services, our mission is to create a thriving community of support for individuals with neurodiverse needs in Litchfield County. Through a collaborative, 'hive-minded' approach, we provide compassionate, evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) that empowers our clients and their families to develop the skills needed to flourish in their natural environments. We believe that with the right structure and support, every learner can contribute their unique 'buzz' to the world."

B — Bee Collaborative: We believe it takes a hive to raise a child. We prioritize a seamless partnership between clinicians, families, and schools to ensure skills generalize beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.

E — Evidence-Based Excellence: Our clinical "honey" is high-quality, objective data. We utilize modern, research-backed ABA techniques that prioritize the dignity, autonomy, and measurable progress of every individual we serve.

E — Empowering Every Learner: We are dedicated to giving every child a "voice," whether through vocal speech, AAC, or signs. Our goal is to empower our clients to advocate for their own needs and reach their highest level of independence.

What is ABA?

“Applied Behavior Analysis is a science based on the use of learning principles to improve lives. The practice of ABA focuses on assessing the environmental influences on behavior, assessment-based intervention, and data-based decision making.” (BACB, 2020)

What does ABA do: ABA breaks skills down into small, manageable steps and teaches them in a way that makes learning clear and achievable. Each program is personalized to meet the unique needs of the individual and their family.

Who works with your child: Therapy is guided by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and implemented by trained professionals such as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs). Progress is continuously monitored using data to ensure that the individual is making meaningful improvements.

What skills can ABA teach: Communication and language skills, social and play skills, daily living skills, school readiness, emotional regulation and coping skills, community and safety skills.

What is the Goal: The goal of ABA is to increase skills, reduce maladaptive behaviors and overall improve their quality of life. ABA is meant to teach skills that they carry into every other environment of their life. This done by developing their confidence and independence.
